I have waited so long for this day. I love you, Spike. I love you so much - and I know you knew that - but now you can hear me tell it to you over and over again. When his cochlear implants were turned on - and his world changed... God, I'm just so happy my son will be able to live a life where he can hear all of the beautiful things in life... laughter, movies, music... and maybe it's not so terrible being able to tune the world out when you need to. I just want the best for Spike, for Ian - for my family in general - and I'm ecstatic that today something really good came our way.

What a sweet and heartfelt moment for Spike and the entire family. I love Daddy Zach and his confidence as he held Spike but especially because Zach showed again what a wonderful and caring man he is as Ryan turned on the implants. Annie bringing toys was also very thoughtful. Spike is very lucky to have so many caring people in his life.

Spike is very lucky indeed to have such caring and loving parents. You were awesome as Spike heard you tell him how much you love him for the first time since his surgery. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Daddy Zach is the best and how sweet of Annie to bring toys for Spike.

I understand that you want your son to be happy. But also at the same time be careful because CI's are not a guarantee thing. Monitor closely to your sons emotions and too it wouldn't be a bad idea to learn some basic sign language, not only for yourself for your son as well.

I'm very, very happy for you, Spike and Zach. Zach is right to be proud of you. You've come a long way from the frightened mother who didn't know how Spike would live a healthy life, and if it hadn't been for Zach, you wouldn't have ever known about cochlear implants. I loved seeing you, Zach and Spike bonding together, laughing like a real family, except Ian was missing. I long to see all four of you together again at your home, without any other guests. Hope we see that soon.

I am so happy that Spike can hear!!! You, Zach, Ian and Spike have been through so much, more than any family should have to go through in a short period of time.

The four of you, deserve time away from all of Pine Valley. You need a family vacation, where the four of you can just be together as a family. And you and Zach can spend quality time with your sons and with each other.

I'm so happy for you, Spike, Zach and Ian! It's been a long and torturous road for that little boy and the rest of the Slater family (no thanks to certain monkeys in your lives). Just spend some good, quality alone time with you boys, Kendall.

Kendall, I'm so happy Spike can hear again. Now he'll be able to hear all the beautiful things in his life, his little brother's giggles when he plays with him, his daddy's beautiful voice when he reads to him every night before he goes to bed, you playing the piano, all the "I Love Yous", and so much more.

I know that Zach so wanted to turn the implant on, and he could have, but he didn't, he let Ryan do it. That just proves again what a great man he is. Yes, he is a great father, the best. Ryan needs to believe that and believe that you are happy. He says it, but I don't think he believes it even though he witnessed it firsthand.

Zach is your husband and father of your children, Ryan needs to get a clue and move on. He's your history, Zach and your children are your future. It will always be Team Slater!!!!!

share the moment with big brother Spike. Another missed golden opportunity
